Early C19. 2-storeys. Painted brick. Flat eaves cornice and slate roof.
2 windows on 1st floor with "Gothic" glazing pattern. Early C19 small shop front
on ground floor has been skilfully replaced in the east by small canted
oriel bay window. (Sash windows with glazing bars in each light). In centre,
flight of 3 steps flanked by iron handrail with urn finials leading up
to door of Georgian type with 6 fielded panels; rectangular fanlight with
rectangular tracery over; panelled reveals. Doorcase with panelled pilasters;
flat hood over on shaped brackets. One sash window in reveals to west.
Nos 47 to 55 (odd) and 70 to 84 (even) with all the listed buildings in
Palmerston Street form a group.
