Wheelhouse on east bank of Ringstone Edge Reservoir

Wheelhousing for reservoir, 1886. Thomas Hawksley engineer (Wakefield).
Rockfaced stone and ashlar. Cylindrical structure with arched doorway with
expressed keystone. Heavy ashlar cornice and hemi-spherical dome topped by
solid parapet with iron crown. A good example of the masonry traditions of the
area.
