An early C16 timber-framed and plastered building with an L shaped plan,
considerably altered in the C18 and later. The upper storey is jettied on
the north front and west side. The west side has the best of the C16 features.
The ground storey and a wing extending south have exposed timber-framing
and the jettied upper storey has exposed joists and a partly carved bressumer.
There is also a moulded wall plate, partly embattled, an original window
with moulded mullions and a carved corner post with the carving of a bell.
The north front has mainly C18 fenestration, 3 window range, double-hung
sashes with glazing bars, in flush cased frames. The ground storey has a
central doorway with the remains of the old head and one carved spandrel
and a C19 public house front. Roofs tiled.
