GV II

Public house. Mid C18, altered and extended to rear C20. Coursed ironstone
rubble to front, limestone rubble to left side, colourwashed render and roughcast
to gable ends. Collyweston slate roof with coped gables; brick chimneys to front
and right gable ends. L-plan. 1 1/2 storeys, 3 bays, the left gabled and
projecting. Right bay and return of left bay have 2-light wooden casements;
centre bay has C20 2-light wooden casement to first floor and C20 leaded cross
casement below. All these windows have dressed surrounds of pale limestone with
keyblocks to lower windows. Keyblock of central window is moulded. Upper
windows are semi-dormers with raking roofs. C20 canted projection with leaded
window in angle between left bays. Between right bays is a 6-panelled door with
bonded ironstone jambs and lintel. Another door with ironstone lintel in return
of left bay. Large C20 rear extension. Interior altered.
