Terraced houses. c.1780-90 Portman Estate development. Stock brick with
channelled stucco ground floors; concealed slate roofs. 4 storeys and
basements. No. 47 has 4-window wide front, No. 48 is only 2 windows wide.
Semicircular arched doorways, that of No. 47 in 2nd bay from right and that
of No. 48 to left; enriched Coade imposts and head keystones; panelled
dqors, fluted doorheads, patterned fanlights. Recessed sashes, under flat
gauged red brick arches to upper floors; the ground floor windows of
No. 47 with vermiculated keystones and the ground floor window of No. 48
set in blind arched panel. Plat band finishing off stuccowork to 1st
floor. Parapets with stone copings. Cast iron area railings with urn
finials.
