Villa. Mid C19. Stucco with stucco
detail; dry slate hipped roofs over modillion eaves cornices;
cast-iron ogee gutters; stuccoed stacks with moulded cornices;
double-depth plan.
2 storeys; 2;3 window range road frontage. Original sashes:
hornless sashes with glazing bars to 1st floor of house,
otherwise horned sashes; most windows with moulded hoods on
carved consoles and sills on brackets, the bay windows (also
to right-hand return) with moulded entablature. Cottage, on
the left, has doorway at far right of regular fenestration.
House has central pilastered round-arched doorway, bay window
on the left and blind window over blind pilastered window on
the right; plinth rusticated quoins and mid-floor string.
Right-hand return has similar detail to that of the front.
INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to reflect the high quality
of the exterior.
On of the best examples of an 1850-1870s group of villas.
