Deeply-coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings; rubble
limestone rear; stone slate and concrete tile roof.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 9-window range under single roof-line.
Large quoins. First and second floors have projecting stone
sills to plain window surrounds: 6/6 sashes beneath 4/8 sashes
to bays 1-4; 8/8 sashes beneath 4/8 sashes to bay 5, 6, 8 and
9; 2/2 sashes to bay 7. Bay 3 has basket-arched carriage
entrance with imposts and iron gates with spear-finialled dog
bars, spiked mid-rail and ball cresting to curved top rails.
Shop fronts: Temptations has ashlar central doorway between
plate-glass windows. Interior Design: corniced ashlar
surrounds to window flanked by doorways (left doorway
converted to a window). C Farmer Ltd: late C20.
Skidmores: c1900 with fluted wooden pilasters and panelled
door reveal on left; angled fascia between consoles.
The Country Life Shop: C20 door in ashlar surround to left of
plate-glass window. Various brick ridge stacks; ashlar end
stack with band to far right.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
