Sanderson's Weir on River Don
II
Weir. 1825. For Messrs. Sanderson, steel manufacturers. Ashlar
and furnace slag. Curved weir, approx 50m long, with ashlar
top sill and downstream slope of furnace slag. At each end, an
outlet, now blocked. Built on the site of an earlier weir to
serve forges on either side of the river.
