The gate piers and east boundary wall, Upper Thorn Farmhouse

Boundary wall and gate piers. Early C19. Red brick, the curve in Flemish bond, the remainder in English garden wall
bond, with Doulting stone piers and clay tile copings. Wall has shaped tile copings, average 1.2 metres high, with
sweeps up to 2 metres before the concave returns to the rusticated ashlar stone piers, which have heavily moulded tops
with step and low pyramid finials: no gates. The wall is contemporary with, and complementary to, Upper Thorn Farmhouse
(qv).
