Chest tomb and railings. Early C19. Portland stone with cast iron railings.
Coped chest tomb with an oversailing lid and rounded, bead-moulded corner
pilasters on a bead-moulded plinth on 2 steps. Rectangular inscription panels
on the long sides of the chest have reeded frames, oval panels on the ends.
Inscriptions commemorate Mr Bold Marchant, d.1814 and his wife and daugthers.
Original railings surround the tomb with square-section verticals with spear
finials, the principal standards columnar with urn finials with a gate at the
west end.
A very complete monument in an outstanding churchyard.
