The C19 south porch is of wood. Reading the stones of the south wall gives a more compex history than that provided in the listing. The chancel on the far right has started in the C11 with courses of small fieldstones. C13 The chancel heightened and nave added. The fieldstones helped out with river stones. Later C14 or C15 the nave extended and heightened with blocks of yellow ironstone. A square headed Perpendicular Gothic window and a square mullioned window incorporated. The depth of the buttresses shows a long standing, conservative, wish to preserve the existing fabric of the building. (Photo Aug 2008).
