GV II

Gateway and wall. Gateway probably C16 restored and refaced C19; wall possibly late medieval in origin. Gateway:
squared and coursed local stone, flat Ham stone coping. Chamfered 4-centred arch opening, stepped gable with flat
coping and obelisks. Pintel lid evidence of former gate. Wall addition joined to north wall of churchyard which abuts
north end outbuildings (q.v,) at Whitestaunton Manor. Random rubble local stone set on bed rock, Ham stone coping. The
land drops away slightly off north side of churchyard so this is in part a retaining wall set on the bed rock.
