Milestone. Probably late C18. Doulting stone pillar, cast iron plaque. Pillar about 400 mm wide, 200 mm thick and about
800 mm high; rectangular plaque about 250 mm wide and 350 mm high reads: BRUTON 1, in raised Roman letters. This road
was maintained by the Bruton Turnpike Trust from 1756.
