4/15 Barn about 40 yards
south of Ashe Farmhouse

GV II

Barn. Probably C18 with late C20 alterations. Sandstone rubble and pantiled
roof. Seven bays aligned south-west/north-east. South elevation has three
rows of loops to either side of raking-top central opposed entry with full-
height double-leaved ledged doors. Interior has trusses with two posts from
ties to collars and curved braces beneath the principals extending from ties
to outer sides of posts. The pantiled roof covering was executed c1984. The
barn closes the farmyard to the south of Ashe Farmhouse (qv) and has its
western gable hard-up to the roadside. Included for group value.
