House, former Rectory. Early C19, possibly with earlier origins, extended
late C19. Timber frame with red brick ends, rear and additions. Plastered
and part colourwashed. Hipped slate roof. 3 unevenly spaced bays. 2
storeys. Entrance slightly off centre, a half glazed door, reeded doorcase
with an intersecting Gothic arcaded frieze, 16 pane glazing bar sashes with
upper margin glazing on first floor. Lozenge boarded eaves. Cross axial
white brick ridge stack to left of centre. Left end truncated external stack,
2 bays of sashes and French windows. A stack to rear right on ridge to 2 bay
2 storey late C19 addition with segmental headed sash windows. Interior:
early C19 staircase with slat balusters, ramped handrail, ground floor room to
right has a reused bar stop chamfered axial binding beam, reconstructed
framing in end wall with a restored 7-light mullioned window. Attached to
front right is a crinkle crankle wall about 30 metres long and 2 to 3 metres
high, an opening near house, partially rebuilt.
