SHREWSBURY
MARDOL
(North East side)
No.61

Shop. Facade of c1800 with earlier core. Brick with plain
tiled roof. 3 storeys, single-window range. Late C19 shop
front with recessed central doorway and high fascia with
moulded console brackets at each side. Single inserted window
to first floor, a 3-light casement probably replacing an
original central window. Two 4-pane sashes to second floor
with flat-arched gauged brick heads with stressed keystones.
Dentilled eaves band. Axial stack to rear. Steeply pitched
roof suggests earlier building refronted c1800.
