Dorothy Boot Homes

GV II

Gate piers and boundary fence at almshouses (qv). c1920.
Coursed squared stone. The fence encloses a triangular garden
in front of the almshouses. In the centre, 2 square gate piers
with ball finials and wooden gates. On either side, curved
fences on plinths. Beyond, to left, a straight length along
Main Road to the junction with Holly Avenue, approx 70m long,
with another gateway. To right, a length bordering Grange
Close, approx 30m long, with square piers.
The plinth now carries a paling fence, probably replacing a
railing.
