Offices. c1870, railings c1900, altered C20. Rendered, roof
not visible, wrought-iron railings. 4 storeys over basement, 3
bays with 1, 2, 1 first-floor windows. Round-arched openings
throughout. Rusticated ground floor with central double doors
in projecting arched entrance with impost band, cornice and
shallow pediment; flanking windows. Upper floors: plain
surrounds to windows with late C20 glazing; carved rosettes
between 1st-floor windows; moulded sill bands clasp rainwater
pipes at outer ends; moulded frieze at eaves with lion masks
and kneelers; parapet rebuilt.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: basement railings: Art Nouveau design of
a scrolled seaweed motif instead of rails supporting moulded
handrail across basement front and flanking steps.
In 1870 the premises of B Berry, woollen merchant; the 1886
Insurance map shows B Berry, wholesale drapery warehouse.
