First World War memorial. c1920. Ashlar. In the form of a
wayside cross, in Gothic Revival style. 6-sided plinth and
2-stage open-sided shaft surmounted by a cross. Each side of
the plinth has 3 cusped niches containing lists of names, a
border above has the inscription: TRUE LOVE BY LIFE/ TRUE LOVE
BY DEATH/ IS TRIED. LIVE THOU/ FOR ENGLAND, WE/ FOR ENGLAND
DIED./ 1914-1919.
