Pair of houses with attached house and terrace. Late C18 with
C19 and C20 alterations. Coursed thin gritstone, stone slate
roofs.
2 storeys, the group composed of a pair of double-fronted
houses (Nos 2 & 3) which have edge-tooled quoins, central
doors with overlights in plain surrounds, flanking and
1st-floor paired sash windows with flat-faced mullions, most
removed and C20 casements inserted; 1st-floor sill band,
moulded eaves cornice large ashlar stacks across ridge on
right of each property; rear: tall narrow staircase windows
above entrances, altered paired mullioned windows. To left
(No.1): an added bay with former sashes, stone sills and
lintels, gable coping to left end. To right, at right angles
(Nos 4 & 5): a pair of later C19 houses with steeply-pitched
stone slate roof, stone sills and lintels, sashes replaced by
C20 small-pane casements.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The group was part of the mill complex at Upper Armley, most
of which has been demolished.
