Includes: No.46 HEADINGLEY LANE Headingley.
Pair of semi-detached houses. Dated 1870. Rock-faced coursed
gritstone, ashlar details, fish-scale slate roof.
2 storeys with attics, 3 bays, the right bay projects slightly
and is gabled. Gothic Revival style. Central door in porch
with hipped slated roof, flanking 6-light mullioned canted bay
windows. First floor, left: carved stone plaque with
interlaced lettering, 'IW 1870'; single and paired sash window
centre and right, single-light attic window in gable. Added
dormer to roof left. Gable copings, stone gable finials.
Left return: the single gabled bay projects forward of the
frontage of No.46 Headingley Lane; ground-floor sashes divided
by a stepped buttress which supports a 3-light oriel window,
narrow window above.
No.46 Headingley Lane has central panelled door with
overlight, moulded Gothic arch and hoodmould. Plate-glass
sashes in ashlar surrounds, 4-light bay window ground floor
left, 3-light window right. 2, 1, 2 lights to 1st floor,
wooden 2-light gabled dormer with cusped lights and carved
barge-boards. Gable coping; large stack left and to rear of
ridge.
