Annexe to Blue Boar Hotel

GV II

Hotel. Early C19. Brown stock brick in Flemish bond and slate
roof, hipped on corner and with gable to north-west. L-plan.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; 2-window range. 2nd floor has 2 sash
windows with segmental heads, each with 2 vertical glazing
bars. The 1st floor has 2 similar windows, but with margin
glazing. The ground floor has C19 shop front, wrapping around
on to Coach Lane elevation, with fascia pilasters and
horizontal proportion, small panes. A corner entrance has
rectangular fanlight.
The 1st and 2nd floors of the Coach Lane elevation have
small-paned tripartite sash windows. On the ground floor is a
pedimented Doric doorcase with plain pilasters and a 12-pane
sash window. The west flank elevation has outline of adjoining
cottage, with gambrel roof and tie beam still in situ.
