House, forming part of terraced row; with attached verandah.
c1826-30; altered. Painted stucco, slate roof with red
cockscomb ridge tiles, rendered chimney to left. Double-depth
single-fronted plan with back extension.
2 storeys and 2 windows. Ornate 2-bay cast-iron verandah with
open-work standards and frieze linked by large scrolled
brackets. The ground floor has a tall square-headed doorway to
the right with panelled half-glazed door and plain overlight,
and a large canted bay window sashed without glazing bars; the
1st floor has a pair of canted oriels with similar glazing and
pagoda roofs with terracotta finials.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Adjoins No.20 to right (qv) and No.22 to left (qv).
All the listed buildings in marine Crescent, together with
those in Adelaide Terrace, Bath Street, Beach Lawn and Marine
Terrace, form a group in the Waterloo Conservation Area of
Crosby.
