House and shop. c1840. Brick with hipped slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Main facade faces Lowther Terrace and is
of 3 bays with glazing bar sash windows and flat brick arches.
In the central bay there is a plain timber doorcase with
console brackets and panelled reveals. The door has 4 raised
and fielded panels, and the overlight has margin panes. The
plastic gutter is carried on rectangular timber brackets.
Chimneys in front of ridge to right of 1st bay and at right.
The left-hand return wall faces south-east towards Holgate
Road and is of one bay. It has a shopfront of c1900 with C20
alterations, with a shop window projecting forwards under a
cornice and with a doorway set diagonally at the right.
