Two houses, now houses and dental surgery. c1845, altered C20.
Brick with painted stone and stucco dressings. Slate roofs.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attics and cellars. Each house 2
bays. Each house has a sashed timber canted bay window at the
left with a modillion cornice. The windows to the upper
storeys have brick flat arches and are glazing bar sashes
except for the left-hand window on the 2nd floor of No.50,
which is C20 with a single pane. No.50 has a small flat-roofed
attic dormer, and at cellar level has a canted bay window
which has glazing bar sashes, with a cellar doorway to the
right. No.48 also has a canted cellar bay window. Each house
has a doorway to the right with a pilaster doorcase with
sunken panels, a bracketed cornice, panelled reveals, and
external steps. The doors both have 4 panels. That to No.48
has a plain rectangular overlight and No.50 has a fanlight.
Both houses have timber gutters. Chimneys to left and right
and between houses.
