Originally C18 coaching inn considerably enlarged early to mid C19 with later alterations
5 storey stucco front with 1st floor string course. 2nd floor sill course and
band over and 4th floor sill course. Low pitch slate roof, flat eaves. 5 windows
to upper floors, recessed sashes glazing bars intact above 1st floor - centre
windows tripartite and all with architraves on this floor. Modern shop front and
entrance on ground floor. Rear wing to yard 3 storeys painted brick. 3 windows
symmetrical, glazing bars, to pilaster framed door, irregular fenestration to right
and left.
