Cottages. 1910, to the designs of Herbert Welch. Brown brick
in English bond with brick and tile insets and tile dressings and coping to gables. Roof of tile with swept, boxed eaves. L-plan mirroring Nos. 6-14 even (q.v.) opposite. Originally planned to form end units in cul-de-sac, cut through in 1911-12. Two storeys, scattered fenestration. All openings flat arched. Designed in a simplified version of Tudor collegiate style and as such virtually unique in the original holding. Collection of bays, gable-facing dormers, and entrances treated in a variety of ways, adding a picturesque note to the composition. Stacks placed with eye to effect. Glazing and doors of an original design.
