Outbuilding (bicycle, wood, earth and gardeners' store), now house. 1902 by
F W Troup for J King; converted mid-late C20. Red and grey brick in header bond
with weatherboard gables and blocking of former openings; plain tile roof. 1½
storeys, 3 irregular bays. Wood-framed, leaded-light casement windows with metal-
framed later C20 windows to right return. Courtyard elevation: asymmetrical. Central
bay has off-centre board door flanked by windows below jettied gable with former
doorway (now window) flanked by windows; a 3-light, transomed, window with blocked
opening above to right bay; a window to each floor of left bay; ogee-roofed bellcote
on ridge to right; roof oversailing at left end. Garden elevation: central bay
has gable, later C20 door and 3-light window to ground floor, two weather boarded
openings with windows above, and ridge stack; another later door to left bay
inserted in left side of window, and weatherboarded opening to 1st floor rising
into flat roofed dormer. Left return: dominated by the oversailing roof which
shelters jettied 1st floor balcony; 2 2-light windows to ground floor and 2 sets
of diamond-set vents; board door and 6-light window above. Right return: ground
floor recessed, with 2 later French doors, behind arcade with wooden columns and
frieze and trellised sides and arches; later windows above, left one in former
doorway. An integral part of the complex of buildings at Kingwood, framing the
left-hand side of the front courtyard.
