ASHOVER SK3463 CHURCH STREET 1264-0/11/23 (East side) 07/08/90 Amber House, including attached outbuildings front boundary wall and gateposts (Formerly Listed as: CHURCH STREET Amber House) GV II House and attached outbuildings. C17 with C19 remodelling and C20 alterations. Regularly coursed squared gritstone and coursed rubble gritstone with ashlar dressings. Plain eaves, ashlar gable stacks, with Welsh slates and stone slates. L-plan house. West elevation of 3 storeys and 3 bays, with a central doorway having a plain ashlar surround and a massive lintel. C20 four-panel door beneath a rectangular overlight. Flanking the doorway are canted bay windows, with lead roof coverings and single glazing-bar sashes. The southern bay is a C20 replacement. First and second floor windows are single glazing bar vertical sashes within flush surrounds beneath deep lintels. Single-bay range to rear with 2 first-floor single-light openings to the gable with C17 surrounds. Attached front boundary wall of ashlar gritstone with square gateposts having pyramidal caps. Listed for Group Value.
