Small room, and sham ruins. C18. Sandstone rubble elevation built into cliffside.
Door to centre under arch with two windows. Circular inside with domed ceiling.
Ruins to right consist of five-arched screen across entrance to gully. Two Romano-
British (fake) altar blocks originally placed in bottom of some arches. One of a
series of garden ornaments in a Romantic Garden laid out by Philip Cartaret Webb
c1750-1770. Noted in the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens of Special Interest
in England - Part 40. (Surrey). II*.
