Entrance gateway to Sharlston Hall.

Gateway to Sharlston Hall. Probably C17. Sandstone ashlar. Inner and outer
piers: the inner pair, approx 3/4 metre square and 4 metres high, have
moulded cornices, prominent moulded caps with low moulded pyramidal pedestals
bearing ball finials; the outer pair, approx ½ metre square and 2½ metres
high, have moulded caps and obelisk finials; all have scrolled consoles on
the outer sides. (The northern main pier has been repaired with 3 courses of
new masonry; and pointed.)
