GV II

National school, now primary school. Circa 1840. Dressed
limestone, Welsh slate roof with coped verges and truncated gable
end stone stacks. Two-storey, 3-window. Central stone porch with
Tudor-arched opening with hoodmould, planked inner door, flat roof,
hollow-chamfered cross window with hoodmould either side. Three
cross windows to first floor. Left return has ground floor cross
window. Rear has cross windows, English bond brick 2-storey wing.
Good example of village school in an imposing style, built on land
given by the Long family of Rdod Ashton (q.v.).
