House, now 2 dwellings. Early C19, with earlier origins. Flemish bond brick,
with limestone ashlar dressings to front; rear wall partly of limestone rubble.
Gabled Welsh slate roof; brick end and ridge stacks. Four-unit plan. 3 storeys;
5-window range. Keyed flat brick arch and scrolled wrought-iron brackets to flat
hood above early C19 six-panelled door with overlight to No.18. Keyed flat brick
arch over early C19 six-panelled door to left. Keyed flat brick arches over
6-pane sashes. Stone plinth, storey bands and quoin strips; bracketed cornice
beneath parapet. Stair-turret projection to rear and rear left wing of limestone
rubble rebuilt in C20. Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest.
Built for Thomas Higgins, a carrier, who acquired this property in 1799.
Described in 1869 as "recently converted into 2 tenements".
