Footpath guidepost: late C19. Octagonal cast iron post with plinth, moulded cap
and ball finial. Finger plate with nicked corners has raised inscription reading:

WIRRAL FOOTPATH ETC SOCIETY
PUBLIC FOOTPATH TO
COALPIT LANE
PLEASE KEEP TO PATH

with
BY PERMISSION OF THE COUNCIL

along the post.

This post has been resited from SJ 3924 7258 following the re-routing of the footpath
because of the M56.
