TQ 67 41 BRENCHLEY HIGH STREET, BRENCHLEY
(south side)
15/111 Elizabeth Fuggle headstone
about 9m south west of the
tower of the Church of
All Saints
GV II

Headstone. Late C18. Freestone. Rococo in style. A high quality
headstone with a scrolled head and elaborate and delicate carved decoration
round an oval inscription panel, the carving including festoons and foliage.
The inscription commemorates Elizabeth Fuggle, died in 1790 aged 19. A
presumably contemporary slab in front of (east of) the headstone has rounded
corners.

An unusually elegant headstone in an outstanding churchyard.
