Farmhouse. C17, remodelled and enlarged in C18, Magnesian limestone rubble,
slate roof. Now double-pile, by addition of parallel range to nest of rear
of original house. Two storeys and 4 bays; part of cambered lintel of former
doorway at left-hand corner, and remains of heads and jambs of former
mullioned windows variously between the existing openings, which are an
inserted doorway in the 2nd bay and boxed sashed windows of 16, 12, and 16
panes at ground floor, 16, 12, 12, and 16 panes above. Large external
chimney stack at right-hand gable, a brick chimney at the other gable and
another on the ridge. Rear of right-hand end has inter alia a blocked
3-light mullioned window at ist floor, remains of another below it, and rear
of added range has segmental-headed windows. Listed for group value.
