11.10.63 Finglesham Farmhouse

GV II

House. Early C19 front with mid C17 rear wing. White brick front elevation
with red brick side elevations and rear wing, with slate roof to front and
plain tiled roof to rear. Two parallel ranges. Two storeys with rendered
cornice to parapet with brick pediment over whole facade. Stack to centre
left. Regular fenestration of 3 glazing bar sashes on first floor and 2
tripartite glazing bar sashes on ground floor in segmented arched recesses.
Central glazed door to panelled interior door and porch with traceried fan-
light, reeded door surround and Doric porch. Return elevations with basement
openings and gauged heads to glazing bar sashes. Rear wing with mid C17
Dutch gable and end stack. The house in 1669 was the residence of Valentine
Parker, a gentleman of local note, probably the builder of the rear wing.
