Chest tomb. Probably C17 in memory of members of the Carnel family. Sandstone ashlar. Plain rectangular chest with very thick, soffit-moulded flat lid and moulded base on one-step plinth. The top of the lid is very weathered and any inscription there has gone. Three of the stone blocks on the south side are inscribed with Roman serif capitals. Top left block is inscribed in memory of (Const)ance Carnel who died in 1714, the block alongside records the death of Thomas Carnel in 1718. The bottom left stone is worn and only the date 1717 can be made out.
