South Front. Estate cottage, dated 1802, altered mid C19. In the porch and above the door, a cast-iron plaque with armorial devices (three wheatsheaves, an eagle) and the initials JSG. (John Sherwin Gregory, Lord of the Manor of Harlaxton 1860-c1875). This building is one of those built or altered c1790-1820 by George de Ligne Gregory, Lord of the Manor of Harlaxton. (Photo Jul 2012). The same styled armorial devices are sculptures on top of the main A607 entrance gateway to the Manor.
