House, later a shop. Early and mid C19. Stretcher-bond red
brick with limestone ashlar facade on a rubblestone plinth,
slate roof with brick stacks to gable ends and rear of both
wings. 3-unit plan including an addition to the left;
2 rear wings and later C19 wing to the left.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; originally symmetrical 3-window range,
now 4-window range. Later C19 left-hand addition has a parapet
to the front with an 8/8-pane sash window with horns to the
1st-floor left, above a boarded window and planked door to the
far left. Plate glass sash windows to the rest which have
Regency-style balconettes. The ground floor is boarded up.
Fine cornice and patera band of the original house; the
mid-floor platband is continued. Steps up to the flush 6-panel
door glazed to the top; a roll-edged arris to the architrave
which is flanked on the right by a blocked window and on the
left by a blocked mid C19 semi-elliptical-plan shop window.
This has moulded consoles close to the ground, a fascia and
cornice.
