Description

TF 90 NE CRANWORTH LETTON

1084/5/10006 Outbuilding range to rear of
Lodge Cottage approx. 370m
SE of Letton Hall

GV II

Outbuilding range. Late C18/early C19. Possibly by Sir John Soane. Red brick, flint and rendered clay lump with hipped pantile roof and brick ridge and end stacks. L-plan. Single storey. Range of 6 plank doors and 2 2-light casements lead to 2 wash-houses with open fireplaces and coppers or sinks and other outhouses, one a stable. Forms a significant group with Lodge Cottage (qv), and is also possibly by Soane. It is an unaltered survival of a cottage outbuilding range in clay lump, a characteristic Norfolk material.
