Stable, outbuildings and attached
wall to the rear (east) of Oak Lodge

GV II

Stable and outbuildings. Early/mid C19. Limestone rubble with
freestone quoins and dressings, double-Roman tile roof.
Rectangular plans.
EXTERIOR: single storey with hayloft; one window to each
block. The gable end of the stable range on Bristol Road has a
planked door to a hay loft with ashlar lintel and quoins on
the 1st floor. The front, facing Oak Lodge (qv) to the west,
has a similar architrave to a 6/6-pane horned sash window to
the left and a wide segmental carriage arch with double
planked doors to the centre. A wide flat-arched opening to the
right is probably C20. A lower range to the right includes a
stable door flanked by similar windows in similar architraves.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: a rubblestone wall with freestone coping
approx 2m high and 3m long extends westward from the left-hand
corner of the stable.
Situated in a prominent position close to Oak Lodge (qv).
