Pair of attached houses, now offices. Late C18. Brick with
stone dressings, brick rear lateral stacks, and a mansard
roof.
PLAN: double-depth.
EXTERIOR: Each of 2 storeys, attic and basement; 1-window
range. The raised ground-floor over a rendered basement has
round-arched outer doorways with steps up, painted fanlights
and C20 panelled doors, with horned sashes in exposed, flush
boxes, 6/6 panes to No 52 and 12/12 panes to No.54, and 6- and
12-pane single dormers. Cambered heads to single basement
windows. The rear has a catslide extending down beneath the
two stacks.
INTERIOR: No.54 altered, has a left-hand dogleg stair.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached spear-headed iron railings to
curved stair up to No.52, and area and steps up to No.54.
