Row of cottages. Circa 1895, probably by Sir Ernest George for Mary Watts, wife of the artist G F Watts for workers at her local pottery. Vernacular revival style. Roughcast with hipped tiled roof with two central brick chimneystacks with round-headed panels and two end chimneystacks in lean-tos. Two storeys; 4 windows. Casement windows with leaded lights. Front elevation has recessed centre with brackets like a Wealden house. The two central windows are two storey canted bays. Square wood and glazed porches to ground floor. Rear elevation has first floor jetty supported on brackets. G F Watts commissioned Ernest George to design their house Limnerslease, also in Compton.
