This asset was previously listed twice also under List entry 1204998. This entry was removed from the List on 02/12/2014.

This item previously listed under Ware Rural Parish.
Stable yard screen wall, now forecourt wall to house in former
stable block. C18. Yellow brick with carved Portland stone
finials to piers, and York stone coping to wall. Screening the
west side of the forecourt, the wall is 2.5 metres high and
50cm thick with stepped plinth. 3-course oversailing band at
top, central gateway with wide square piers higher than the
wall, and 2 arched smaller gateways in the middle of the wall
at each side. These have heavy block rustication in brick, and
a Portland stone step. The central piers have a projecting
brick band continuing the wall's top-band and an elaborate
stone top with moulded base supporting a large carved stone
pineapple. Heavy boarded doors in the arched openings.
