Pair of houses, now four dwellings. Mid C18, altered in early
C19, subdivided in late C20. Colourwashed brick; pantile
roofs, hipped at front: ridge stack to No.219, side stack to
No.217. U-shaped on plan.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey 1-window wings have lower 2-storey
extensions with crenellated parapets flanking central yard
screened by garden gates. Fronts mirror each other in reverse
with entrances in extensions, that to No.217 having a panelled
door, No.219 a C20 door: doorcases are of panelled pilasters
with cornices. On first floor, each extension has one 3/6
unhorned sash window. Earlier fronts have 8/8 unhorned sashes
on each floor, those on ground floor under segmental arches.
Returns to extensions are of different sizes and varying
detail, that to No.217 having a propped first floor resembling
a jetty.
