The Old Custom House

GV II

Customs House, now house. Early C19; altered and converted to
house in C20. Gault brick, rendered at rear; pantiled roof and
internal gable end stack of brick.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey 2-window front. Entrance on first floor is
6-panel door in reeded doorcase approached by flight of 8
stone-faced brick steps. On ground floor are two large fixed
windows, each formerly of 20 panes, that to right partly
converted to a glazed door; both have segmental arches. Upper
door is flanked by 3-light C19 metal casement windows. Rear:
elevation refenestrated with four C20 Crittall windows. Dentil
eaves cornice.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
