House, built as seaside villa, c1840. Red brick with gault
brick dressings; hipped slate roof with 2 rebuilt stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Entrance elevation to north in 3 bays,
articulated by 4 plain pilasters on plinth course, and with
cornice. Central 6-panelled door under plain overlight in
panelled doorcase rising to hood on large scrolled consoles.
One 1/1 unhorned sash either side, with margin glazing, and 3
similar sashes to first floor. Each window has wide hoodmould
on label stops containing sliding louvred shutters. Scalloped
fascia board under eaves, returning along east front.
East front of 2 bays articulated by 3 plain pilasters on
plinth and with cornice. Ground floor with 2 unhorned sashes,
that to left with additional glazing bars. Sliding louvred
shutters contained within wide hoodmoulds on label stops as
north elevation. Full-width timber balcony to first floor
supported on 3 cast-iron pillars of circular section. 2 French
doors open onto balcony, both with sliding louvred shutters
under hoods on label stops.
