GV II

Pilot and lifeboat station. c1850 with lifeboat station added
in C20. Red brick with gault brick dressings; slate roofs.
EXTERIOR: 4-storey square tower with decorative saw-toothed
gault brick quoins at the corners and 2-course bands at floor
levels. Upper 2 floors have single-light casements under
segmental heads: west side has blank plaster cartouche to
second stage. Corbelled eaves cornice below pyramidal roof.
Attached to east is a single-storey lifeboat station.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Pilot station was constructed in competition with the South
Lookout (qv).
