Stables and store rooms. Early C19 and later. Sandstone
rubble; brick; Welsh slate roof. Rectangular on plan with
central brick-fronted 3-storey block with gabled roof, flanked
by 2-storey wings with hipped roofs.
EXTERIOR: scattered fenestration. Central carriage entrance
altered in C20, under segmental arch, with blocked opening
over and light to second floor; stone pedimented gable, with
moulded band returned to eaves, and containing rendered
tympanum linking broad pilasters. Wings have blocked openings
under brick segmental arches, and to right, C20 casements.
Right returned side: painted brick with C20 entrance. Left
returned side: C19 casement over casement under brick
segmental arch.
Rear: pedimented central gable; blocked opening under brick
segmental arch; stack.
INTERIOR: retains stable fittings; broad staircase. Attached
wall to north-east: early C19; brick; approx. 4m high x 30m
long; blind arcading with one arch to north, pierced by
entrance to offices.
An important element of the streetscape.
